Nope. You could deposit your 2020 usage into II and try to trade that way...

Can you pre-pay your 2020 MFs, and then borrow the amount of SOs that you need to make a SO reservation for 2019? I've done this before. CJ

So you are trying to make a reservation more than 8 months out in 2019? Meaning the last couple weeks of this year?

yes, just saw availability for WLR for week 52.

In a related question, when booking week 52 with staroptions which begins on Dec 28 do I need to have enough 2019 available for the 1st 4 nights and then use my 2020 options?

would I be able to make the reservation using only my 2020 options?

It would be the amount of SO for the week. Which year it's for, or which year the SO are from, do not matter. SO are SO.

His 2020 SO usage begins 1/2020, he can make reservations for 2020 in 2019, but can’t use 2020 earned SO for 2019 reservations unless he borrows them and pays 2020 main in advance?? So if he had enough SO for 2019 portion of stay, then he can use his 2020 SO for balance of stay?? I would call and verify all of this, never had this situation lol

Once you pre-pay your maintenance fees the SO will be in your account. It doesn't matter that you are making a reservation crossing the date line between two years. The SO are put into your account. If you have 100,000 SO in your account now and you pre-pay next years MF those SO(let's say 148,000 SO) your account will show 248,000 SO. There is no way to differentiate where the SO came from.

But that would be two separate reservations. That would incur an additional house keeping fee and the possibility of having to change units. Also would require the reservations to be made days apart and the possibility of not getting the second part of the reservation. (If I am understanding what you are proposing.)

If it is week 52, wouldn't that by default be 2019 reservation even if the dates fall into 2020?

ok so if it is a 2019 reservation I would need to borrow SO from 2020. Do you know what happens to the SO if I am unable to make the reservation? Do they go back to 2020 or do I have to use them at another time in 2019?

Someone else will have to chime in. I have never borrowed SO. I think once you pre-pay the SO are in your account. (No take-backsies :D) But I am not sure.

My guess they would be treated as 2020 SO, you would have to bank them by 7/2020 to extend their usage beyond 2020,
otherwise they would be good thru 12/2020. Call to verify this.

And the borrowing would have to be done over the phone, so it is not looking like I will be able to get in at exactly 8 months.

thanks

doesnt work that way, you have to prepay the MFs in full but you can only borrow the exact amount you are short to make a specific reservation and you have to do it over the phone

the SOs do NOT show up in your account like your example...

and if you cancel the reservation, the borrowed SOs return to their original use year. you can borrow them again, or any more SOs you need up to what's left of the full value of the unit you prepaid, or leave them there for use in their original year.
