Consecutive weeks stay at Lagunamar?

I had some banked SO to use so booked 3 consecutive weeks at Lagunamar in December, during Gold season. My question is this...has anyone done this before and if so, what's the likelihood of having to change villas and the end of the individual weeks? When booking these weeks, there is a disclaimer you must agree to that indicates changing villas is a possibility.

There’s always a possibility but I find Lagunamar one of the most accommodating resorts. If they can make it work not to move you, they will try. Versus WKORVN, they don’t try at all.

Yes I would agree. Lagunamar will try their best not to move you if you request that. I would call now and put it as a note on your reservation that you would like to stay in the same villa if possible.

Did you book 21 days or 3 separate reservations of 7 days each? If you booked 21 days I would say it is in one room. If 3 separate reservations, probably have to hope for the best. I've been to Lagunamar during that time wasn't too busy. Also, Lagunamar doesn't have fixed week fixed units do they? So shouldn't be too much trouble for them to arrange it.

It would be 3 separate reservations since one does not get the disclaimer OP received unless booking back-to-back reservations. Also, I believe it is impossible to have one reservation for 21 nights.

You can definitely make one reservation for 21 nights using Staroptions, and if they are all on one confirmation, it should be for the same unit.

You beat me to it @DeniseM :)

And one reservation would mean no extra house keeping fees too!

The one thing I have a problem with when staying multiple weeks is they don't restock your unit after the first week. Fresh towels, but no coffee or soap or shampoo, etc.

They certainly restock those supplies in Hawaii at WKORVN and Nanea, even at the mid-week tidy cleaning.

We certainly did not have this problem when staying at Lagunamar a couple years ago for 13 nights. Everytime they came in they dumped more soap and shampoo in the unit.

Well teach an old dog new tricks! I thought 14 nights was the max for a StarOption reservation! Thanks.

What about resorts with fixed weeks/units?
The OP made a Staroption reservation. Fixed weeks are always 7 night reservations, and so are home resort reservations.

Not the last time we booked 2 weeks there.

Nope. And you don't get more dishwasher soap, either. I have learned to just help myself to the cart.

Well we are at Nanea now and will have been for 11 nights when we check out. We've had two cleanings and they've added shampoo, bar soap, body lotion, conditioner, dishwashing soap each of the two cleanings.

We moved to Nanea from WKORVN and had one mid-week tidy where they did the same. Don't know about coffee because we are not drinkers (coffee that is!).

Now, I always leave a tip for the housekeeper and have done some consistently for over ten years. I don't know if that's what causes the restocking or not since I've always left one.

I am referring to using StarOptions to book in to a resort like WSJ or perhaps even SVR where there are only fixed week/units. Would the system only show 21 night availability if there is 21 nights available in a specific unit number?

You can still make Staroption reservations at fixed week resorts. It will only show availability for 21 nights, if 21 nights are available in the same unit. If 21 nights are not available in the same unit, it won't come up when you search for 21 nights.

Consider yourself lucky. They DO NOT re-stock multiple weeks. I'll be there multiple weeks in a premium ocean front in May. I'll report back very specifically what they do and and do not do.

They key may be hiding the supplies to make it look like you used them all up!

Yes, unfortunately, they shortened it a couple years ago. You used to be able to book a 28 night stay. I guess maybe that got too close to a 30 night stay where you would have to go through the eviction process instead of easily kicking them out of a hotel room? That's the problem w/a VRBO rental if they rent for a month or more & don't pay, you can't just kick them out, you have to go through the legal eviction process that can take several months....while they are not paying anything.

We're leaving Nanea but just noticed out "Welcome to Paradise" folder we received when we checked in. This is a direct quote from the folder:

MIDWEEK HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE - Owners and Exchangers staying seven nights or longer will receive a midweek service on the third day of stay. This consists of changing bedding, trash removal, towel exchange and amenity replenishment.

I can only assume "amenity replenishment" refers to toiletries, coffee, etc. Perhaps they've changed this since you last stayed at Nanea.

Heading to the airport!

Wow! Thanks for all the great replies. These weeks are actually two separate reservations...the first week is for a 2BR since we'll have guests with us. This is a home resort reservation, and the second reservation is for 1BR for two weeks on SOs. I did see where I could have booked 21 consecutive days but didn't see online how I could book two different villa options. I haven't called yet, as was recommended, but I'm guessing I'll have to move after the first reservation. Fingers crossed.

You can only book 21 nights in the same unit. Although, if you are in a lock-off the first week, you can ask to stay in one side of the same unit for the next 2 weeks.
