I sold a deeded timeshare in a state as a non-resident. Do I need to file a state tax return as I did a minor profit on the sale.

I am including it in my federal return.

TIA.

I suppose it would depend on the state and what that states rules are for such sales, any minimums, etc. As far as I understand, each state would be different. And some have no state tax of course. So, specifying the state might help for someone who might know about that state.

If I had no other activity in the particular state, personally I would ignore it...

Thank you both.

I understand for states that do not have tax, we are good. We are talking less then $100 in taxes.

I know some states do not want more paperwork for little money. I one time got my check back from a tax authority as the transaction was too small (around $25) and they did not want to deal with.

I will ask my CPA and see what he says.
