What am I missing? I bought a 98k annual contract with 98k 2019 points for $350 from the same seller. This seems like way out of the ordinary?

That seller frequently sells the same points contracts with and without prepaid MF. Nobody bids on the ones without the MF prepaid. I assume it is tied to an exit company.

The closing company says they resell timeshare trade-ins/upgrades

Hmmm ? Thinking it’s probably best to avoid calling people stupid for buying a timeshare, in particular amongst this group.

Likely of which many have found the group only after a first purchase at full retail pricing and so they are making the best of their situation.

Interesting though if there is something else going on.

Maybe a poor choice of words, but anyone that is familiar with the Ebay platform knows that price is a little out of sight. This would be like paying 3000 times the price for a coffee cup or any other tangible item sold on Ebay.

First let me say that yes, it sold for a lot more than I would have expected. Especially for just an EOY deed. However the price included the transfer fee, closing costs and it has the 2019 points with the maintenance fees paid. These are important details many buyers overlook when they only pay attention to the price rather than what it will cost them when all is said and done. At that price I would have wanted the RCI fee of either $222 for a new points account or $98 to add a new deed to an existing points account to be included in the price!

It is week 19, May 10/11/12- May 17/18/19, not a paid holiday week, March Madness week or even Cinco de Mayo. Although there are a couple of conventions that week so who knows maybe someone wanted that week specifically for a convention.

Looking at the bidding makes me think someone used a sniping service. I can't figure out why the bidding would go from $25 to $3500 in one bid! Does this seller have a cohort who buts in bids to drive up the price and then someone who uses the sniping service gets stuck paying their next higher bid?

Maybe they simply meant to enter $35.00 but skipped an ever so important decimal point and just got caught in an error and over spent ?

I am an Ebay timeshare lurker. I am curious. If you accidently put in an extra decimal and won the auction (or simply changed your mind). Can you back out of the deal after the Ebay auction closed if you haven't sent money or signed paperwork?

Real estate bids on ebay are not binding.

If you do enough business on ebay, no matter what you are buying/selling, you will run into sales that fall apart for various reasons.

If you are a seller, you just relist and move on. Sometimes buyers make mistakes, have issues, or get confused. Sometimes you will buy something and the seller realizes they were out of inventory.
