Check-in Day Flexible gone?

When searching for availability on VillaFinder, it appears that the +-3 day search option is no longer offered. Has anyone heard anything about that?

I found that option to be really helpful. It would be a shame if it was permanently gone.

You're right - it's gone, but it was there yesterday. Now we will be forever trapped in the viscious cycle of Vistana purgatory where we must click on endless stop lights and store fronts, to find reservations.

I hope this is an unintentional mistake and that it is going to be corrected immediately. The Vistana reservation system was already inferior to the HGVC one. With Hgvc you have a nice calendar that shows all types of rooms available for any day of the year for any resort. I know Vistana has the little calendar as well but my understanding is that it is not accurate, not to mention it is pointless when you are searching multiple resorts.

The only reason why they would do that intentionally is to make it harder to find a room so that Vistana can keep more inventory for rental. That would be a shame.

i spoke with Vistana, they were not aware of this issue, it might be a glitch in the system. I was told that IT was going to investigate.

the +-3 days feature is still not available. This makes any search really difficult. I hope they will fix it soon

Marriott will show an entire month of availablity and when you click on the date it will show what is available (studio/1bed etc...). The downside of Marriott searches is when you look to see what is available it not let you see inventory unless you actually have enough points to book the room.
DVC has one of the best search functions I believe for availability. HGVC is not bad either. I guess owning all of them I get to see the pluses and minuses of each.

hopefully they are improving the system and this is why the feature is currently not available.

I keep on checking my account for an imminent transfer and it is hard not to notice that this issue is still not resolved. Does anyone know if major changes to the Vistana booking system are coming? This could be one possible explanation why the +-3 day search option is not available.

i actually called a couple of days ago and they told me that they did not know when it would be functional again.

Suggestion: All of the TUG Vistana owners should go to the Vistana dashboard and use the message function there to send a complaint.

Remember when Vistana started charging a fee for guest confirmations for home resort reservations (violating their own rules) and we complained and got it overturned? The squeaky wheel gets greased!

i agree with you, this is the way to communicate to Vistana that this feature is important.

I am not sure why it was disabled in the first place. It is not like they changed the whole search module, it seems to me that this is the only feature that is not there. For a home reservation It is not that bad (but bad enough). My resorts only have check in days Fri-Sat-Sun, that means max 3 searches. If I am booking with Staroptions though, another story since the check in can be any day of the week.

Answer: Please be advised, our IT Department is working diligently in order to fix that problem on our website. We were advised this morning, the tool will be tested this afternoon; therefore, we are hoping that it gets to be available for use tonight, if not by the beginning of next week. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

My response: Thank you...while they are at it, can they please also fix the annoying banner that tells us about the annoying Guest Name Change policy? Every time, I check the "Do Not Show Again" click box and it never works. It just reminds us of the annoying process of changing names on a reservation.

Answer: Thank you for your feedback. I will pass this information along to our IT Department for their review.

I heard back from Vistana, Here is their response to the email that I sent above:

Upon checking our website, I can confirm that the “Do Not Show Me This Message” button is currently functioning correctly. If you wish not to be advised of the Third-Party fee, you may check the box, and the pop-up message will no longer appear.

Regarding searching flexible dates, we are aware that the option is currently unavailable, and we are working diligently to rectify the issue. Currently, we do not have an estimated date as to when this option will be available again. There is currently a calendar available online that provides suggestion for alternate search dates as well.

Please feel free to contact Elite Member Services to check a range of dates. ...Please feel free to contact us again should you need any further assistance.

I checked the "Do Not Show Me" message and for the first time, it actually didn't show up! How about all of you?

Nothing specific about Vistana here, but I do find that the browser you use often makes a difference in button behavior. It seems that many folks who create web pages fail to test their pages on Apple products. I often find pages whose buttons do not work on Safari, but do work if I switch to Chrome...or to Bravo.

It's not that the button doesn't work - it isn't even there any more.
