I was just paying my MF and noticed that the points for a week are very different than what they use to be. see below. 148,100 for 2bdrom lockoff used to be 81000 points I believe, now its 240K? Anyone else seeing this? Sorry if this has been posted before.

After the hotel merger, Marriott International (Hotel), had to equalize the points system between SPG and Marriott rewards. Your points are not worth more than before, it has simply been "equalized" to Marriott rewards points. There is no more SPG points, only Marriott points.

Yes I was aware of the ONE TIME POINTS CONVERSION but not all conversions of options to points were 3-1 going forward. Thanks

There is no more SPG points, hence it is a permanent 3X multiplier, otherwise you get a 3X deflation.

Just to clarify: you don't convert options to points - you convert your deeded week to Starpoints. There is no conversion between Staroptions and hotel points, nor was there when it was under Starwood or Vistana Mgmt. Staroptions only apply to timeshare stays.

What that means is that you get 3 times as many Marriott hotel points as you formerly did Starwood Hotel Starpoints.
