I have been taking the Auto Train for years now. It was disappointing when they cancelled the AAA Member discount. I book early and keep checking back.

I got a price adjustment $34.00 in August when they had a sale for my trip from Lorton in February. I checked today and got a $34.00 price adjustment for my return from Sanford in March.

They do not hassle you and give you the credit right away. The adjustment in August they gave me and e-credit and today they gave me a credit to my credit card.

Amtrak offers senior 10% off not sure if on auto train. You can also join the Narp $30 senior, $40 not a senior for a 10% discount again not sure if it applies towards auto train.

I remember riding the Auto-Train back in the 70's when they had a live lounge act - a guy singing and playing a keyboard. The act was made famous by Bill Murray on Saturday Night Live by his character "Nick Rails".

Did you know the Auto-Train is the longest passenger train in the world, at about 1 mile long.

In my pic you can see we had the whole car to ourselves.

It has been at least 2 years. We take the train annually in February and it is a least twice we could not use the discount.
