We are staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort the middle of February on an II exchange. Looking for recommendations on what area to request. We are seniors and will need buildings with elevators. Currently not planning to do any swimming so being near a pool is not a requirement. Thanks.

Ask for the Cascades section and let them know that you require an elevator. I believe Cascades is the only section with elevators.

Cascades is too crowded for me. I prefer the Lakes section. Those buildings are more spread apart, better parking, and the buildings are only 4 stories, with elevators. Also, Cascades buildings can be right on 535, which will have busy LOUD traffic that time of year. Lakes is tucked in the woods. Lakes and Cascades are the only phases with elevators.

FWIW, I would request a ground unit in any other section but Cascades or Lakes. The other 5 sections are 2 or 3 storey buildings. So 1/3 to 1/2 of the units are ground floor. In those sections you are generally parking directly in front (or very close) to your door - just a few steps away. In the larger Cascades and Lakes sections you are vying for spots in a surface lot, longer walk to the central elevator, walk back down the building to your unit. Ask to be away from any of the 3 larger pools that stay open later at night - that can be a bit of a noise issue. There aren't very many villas that back onto 535, or I-4, but several that front onto them. The difference is that the primary windows and balconies are on the back of the unit, and the door and kitchen on the front. Noise isn't that much of an issue if you front. IMO, quietest sections are Palms, Courts, Falls, Spas, Fountains, Springs in roughly that order.
