We own at Oeacn Oak, we have gold season gives us 5K points. We want to go to italy next year but its 7K points as most of the good season is platinum. What do you suggest we do to make up that difference of the 2k points? I was thinking of buying some points resale but even the free points come with the maintenance of 1200-1300 in fees.

You can borrow from the next year's points, and there is no charge for that.

I am not an expert on EOY but I think you could bank your 2018 points to 2019 (min 2k to be banked) and then borrow your 2020 points to get to 7k. Banking costs about $100. Borrowing is free.

Alternatively, rent a unit? Check redweek and Tug rentals and contact owners for the specific week and unit type you want.

You can also downsize to a smaller unit and/or book fewer days.
A 5K Gold unit is 2BR. Book a 1-BR (leave the rugrats home).
It's possible to book mid-week only (M-F) for L/T 5K points.

Or reach out to another HGVC member that has 2k points to burn and get them transferred to you.
