$200 gift card

I can't believe it. Anytime someone runs a special it's never when we can go or it's not the right place, we don't stay enough nights etc.

So I received the latest email from HGVC that if we book at Las Palmeras during a certain time in December we'd get a $200 gift card when checking in. We were already booked at Parc Soleil but the deal couldn't be good for a 3 nights stay could it? Read the T&C's and sure as heck it can be.

So I called and they changed my reservation without charge - really? Points were the same so no charge. We would prefer Parc Soleil but for $200 we'll switch, lol.

Nice to actually "fit in" for a special once in a while

Was it confirmed from the person you spoke to that changing your reservation to Las Palmeras during the promotion timeframe, you would still qualify to get the $200, even though it is a change in reservation and NOT a new booking?

Yes, she said I would get the gift card. But they've said stuff before..... Sorry, I looked earlier and didn't see any posts about this then I just noticed one - duh! No idea how to delete this.

To qualify for the deal, the booking must be made between certain dates.
It doesn't, however, say it has to be a "new" booking, so a change may do.
... If its the same booking #, it'll have the the original booking date.
... The online confirmation when printed shows the booking date

When the deal was posted, I had an already booked a 4-day stay at Seaworld.
In fact, I had booked the stay for dates that would've qualified for the deal.
So, moved that booking to December, and made a new booking to qualify.
It meant paying a new booking fee, but its still a net gain.

I called member services yesterday and they did confirm that an existing booking can be moved to the promotion dates and still get the $200 GC at checkin as along as it is reserved between the promotion dates.
