So, let's say you have done a manual deposit with II, i.e., on MVCI.COM, reserved a week and then went to II to deposit it. (Deposit First).

Can you get that week back and not exchange? is there a cost?

What happens is you simply cancel the week, in my case with MVCI? Will the II deposit go away?

First, if you make an actual deposit on II, it is impossible to reverse it. Someone else already has the reservation. Two people cannot have the same reservation. It could be II that has it, but in all likely it is being held by another II member as an exchange. There is no avenue available to take it back from another II member and put it back with Marriott.

Your last sentence confuses me. How would you cancel a week on MVCI if it has already been deposited with II? When you deposit with II it completely disappears from MVCI. What I think you mean is you made a deposit in II and then canceled the reservation on MVCI before they had a chance to confirm it with II. If this is what you mean you didn't really complete a deposit in II. Completing a deposit in II consists of further action behind the scenes by the member resort. They have a certain time period to confirm a deposit before it is cancelled. If this is what you did then what will likely happen is the deposit in II will disappear from your account. You will get a post card in the mail explaining the deposit was cancelled and to contact your home resort to clarify.

There is no real time depositing in II no matter if you do it from II or MVCI. A further confirmation still has to occur.

If you just made the deposit, say in the last hour or so and realized you did so in error you may be able to call II and get them to reverse it if no one else has taken the week yet. This would be done on a courtesy basis. You can try if it has been longer but the longer it has been the less likely that the reversal will be successful. Even if the week has not been confirmed with II and hasn't been matched to anyone the longer after the deposit the less likely that they would grant a courtesy reversal as the rules state that the transaction is final.
