Newbie question, but how do the borrow/lend rules apply to EOY points?

I know they can be used 1 year early and pushed 1 year after in the HGVC system, but never 2?
Any other way to add points to my balance?
Can I buy extra points for onetime use to combine with mine?

Example: 1 have 7000 EOY points, but at some time want to stay at a Hawaii HGVC resort that requires 10500. Any way to stockpile my own points to get there?

What other route can I use to get to 10,500?

It seems like EOY points can never be combined, only split. Correct?

If you get points in even years then you can save your points from 2018 into 2019. Then you can book a vacation in 2019 using the saved points and borrowing from 2020. That way you have double the points available.

With an EOY you can’t borrow from next year and get double the points unless you have saved the points from the previous year.

Thanks! Exactly what I wanted to know.
So if I own Even, I'd have to plan for an Odd year trip in order to combine points.

Is there a way to acquire 1-time extra points to add to mine from other sources? (from other point-owners or direct from HGVC?)

Trying to weigh all my options & don't want a EOY purchase to handcuff how I travel too much.

There is no way to buy one time use points from hgvc. You can however get a transfer from another member.

Interesting read!
I could imagine a scenario of selling unused points to a fellow TUG member at a good rate (and maybe at a higher rate to an outsider!):)

I think the difficult part would be to find an acceptable rate for both parties. Because is an acceptable rate the current MF or MF+x% or something else?
