Going back to Coconut point for the 1st time in a couple of years.

I know that they are in construction for building #4, but wondering if there were other tips I should be aware of for the trip.

1. I hear the boat requires reservations now. Is that the day before or morning of? How likely is it to get "booked" in June? Never had a problem just jumping on the bus to the boat before, so this is a new one to me.

2. The cabanas were always just "there" when we went before. It seems now that they have TVs and refrigerators and require reservation and additional fees. Is that true for all of them? When was the change?

3. We have not been since the new pool/slides were completed at the neighboring hotel. Any tips for when/how to access that pool and those amenities? Is it still open to residence club guests?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

We reserved the ferry same day no problem. You also need reservations to use the slide at the hotel next door. It is open to us. We didn't use cabanas, no trouble getting chairs by the pool. Maybe someone else will jump in and speak to the cabanas

Thank you for the fast reply. Are you able to use the ferry to the beach and the hotel slide on the same day? Is there a specific timeframe you are reserving, or just use sometime that day?

For the ferry, you reserve a specific time. For the slide you just need a pass for that day. You can reserve both for the same day.I have heard it gets very crowded next door at the slide and their lazy river. They also have coolers for the beach that they will fill with ice for you. Enjoy!

Anyone know if the hotel guests still get use of the Coconut Plantation property or did that end when they got their own slide and lazy river?

They can still use the residence club but when we were there early May it was not crowded at all.

As for cabanas:
I didn't use them, but it appears that 2 of the cabanas with hammocks were converted to the new cabanas that need reservations and require a fee.
The four cabanas with the lounge chairs on the little island across the bridge over the lazy river haven't changed.

Reservations for the ferry aren't required, but are a good idea. I went once without a reservation, and the boat was filled with people who had a reservation. I also went once with a reservation, and they didn't even bother checking since there were only about 8 or 10 people going over
You can make a reservation at the front desk. And yes, the reservation is for a specific boat departure time.

Last time I used the hotel pool, I just picked up a wrist band at the front desk. I only went over once to check out the lazy river, but haven't gone back because the Plantation lazy river is better and longer IMO.

Hotel guests can still use the Plantations pools, but it does seem like fewer people do that now.

They do have blackout dates for using each others pools for holiday weekends, like Memorial day, etc.
