Lagunamar Infinity Pool

So disappointed, as we will be bringing our guests that week and absolutely love the infinity pool. For some reason I thought they did this already. Only hope is they will delay it. Wanted to pass the info on at any rate.

We have recently been advised by WLR Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort that as part of continuing efforts to maintain and enhance the resort the following renovation will take place;

Resurfacing to lower section of the infinity pool will be occurring Aug.15, 2018 - Sept.30, 2018. Guests will not have access to Viento Restaurant, Viento pool bar, swimming and deck area facing the ocean within the work area. Work will take place 9:00AM to 5:00pm. Upper deck area, children's pool, whirlpools and the second large pool will be available.

They were supposed to do it along with the upper pool last year but only got the upper pool done and delayed the infinity pool until this year. Unfortunate for those traveling during that time. Also, expect it to take longer, perhaps much longer than expected.

It is also unfortunate that you were not informed of this sooner than approximately 60 days prior to the pool area closure.

I don't know why this is just being sent out now. They knew about this last year when they didn't get to the infinity pool after completing the upper pool. Though perhaps they didn't have exact dates then.

We just canceled our stay there for this reason. We figured between construction noise, a changed view, less pool capacity, etc. it just wasn't worth staying there at this time.

I'll have to check . We reserved using our Hyatt points in interval and have 2 units so don't know if it will be worth it to cancel at this late date. I'll check with interval in the morning

Oh that sucks, we will be there end of August. Oh well, we usually chill at the smaller pool anyways.
