SDO 1-52 weeks

Does anyone own a 1-52 SDO, and if so, has it been successful in booking spring training in March?

Please advise - we go every year and this is a property of interest. Thanks!

I second what Denise said. I no longer bother to reserve - I'm going to trade anyway, so I leave those weeks for other owners since Vistana is going to give a blended week to II.

I'm going to disagree on this. I've owned there for about 10 years and own a number of units. Most March weeks get reserved very quickly, many within the first 15 minutes of becoming available during online booking. The last 4 years has become progressively more difficult if you're not on the ball.

GregT, since you're a veteran owner of multiple resorts, I think you'll do ok if taking the necessary preparations to book

I make my reservations right at midnight, at 12 months, and I have never had a problem. If you try to reserve the next day, you may have a problem, but that would not be "right at 12 months."

I make multiple reservations "right at 12 months" for multiple dates in March during spring training. I can usually get about 2 reservations in a 2BR or large 1BR in about 2-4 minutes and then there will be no more units available for that check-in date in those sizes. You'll have a bit longer time for the small 1BRs. Sometimes there may still be a small 1BR if you are calling in the at 9 AM EST of the first available date but not typically of the other units.

If you are only booking one unit, then you may not have a problem booking but I wouldn't categorically say it's easy

There is usually more availability for the platinum season units.

Just to add further, I would say usually the first and last weeks of March are easier to reserve. The two middle weeks of March seem to be the ones that disappear the quickest (as per my comments in earlier post).

I could not book a large 1 bedroom for 2nd week to last week of March for next year despite trying to book online when the reservation open. No problem with booking the small 1 bedroom

How is the II trading experience these days with the SDO 1-52?

From thread searches, it appears it used to be decent but looks like it has gotten weaker.

If anyone also has a WM, can you compare it to space banks? Are the SDO 1Br traders comparable to/better than a 5K space bank 1Br?

Greg - In 2018, I traded my SDO one bedroom for a one bedroom at Westin Princeville, with an ongoing search.

SDO is still a very strong trader, better than SBP in a recent trade test reported by another TUGger. My SDO deposited into II can see everything in II, including 1BR seeing all available 2BR in peak season, unless it is under resort priority period. I am using my true platinum week as I have sold my 1-52 a while ago.

We just came back from Peoria and are looking forward to Padres in 2019 — now we just need some pitching...

Please encourage the Padres to make an offer to Dallas Keuchel. He's a free agent and so far has had little interest but I think the Padres have been looking at him. No one wants to make him a long term, large contract like he is seeking. I'm just hoping someone takes him because the Astros have left the door open to his remaining with the team if he doesn't find another home - just not at the price he's looking for. I hope someone takes him because he makes me a nervous wreck every time he steps on the mound!
