Hey Guys,

Being the start of the new year, what are my chances of getting an open season booking at HHV for the dates Jan 6th to 13th? When I look now, there seems to be rooms available but can't book until 30 days out.

I'm trying to upgrade from Kalia to either Grand Waikikian or Lagoon Tower. I don't have enough points for a 2 bedroom but travelling with 2 kids. Having that extra bedroom is a game changer for my sanity. ;)

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Getting a week all in a row during Open Season is rare at any time in Honolulu, especially at the Lagoon. The Waikikian sometimes, but usually only in the "higher priced" Open Season rates. (2BR premier, etc.) Possibly in the new building, the Grand Islander, but I don't see any right now. If you are willing to split the week in two different rooms, you may have a better chance, but be aware that you will be "homeless" during the transition and will have to pack, unpack, store baggage, etc.

You don’t have to be homeless, pay the extra and overlap the reservations if you cant get the same room type. If you do snag the same type they will try to link them.

I overlap when I stay multiple weeks, I have one week at Bay Club then switch to Kingsland.

Yes, we used to do that as well, but not now with the new Open Season rates. Often, with Open Season, you get split 2 and 3 night reservations hopefully in the same room type, and it gets expensive to double up on room costs 2-3 times a week.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I'll do the split if I have to. Even if I keep my 3 days at Kalia then get the 5 days with one day overlap, it's worth it.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American Tuggers
