Just returned from a week at Ocean 22... loved it. Found out that Hilton is building an even bigger tower that will be called Ocean 16 a few blocks south of Ocean 22. I assume this has to be HGVC since there will be a preview center. I even saw the big crane doing construction over there. Here are some links about it. I had no idea and heard nothing about it prior to my trip. Also, one of the bell hops told me that the tiny buildings next door to Ocean 22 on the north side have been purchased by Hilton and will be knocked down to build another tower too.

Very interesting. I will be there next week, I would like to hear more about that. We know HGVC likes to triple and even quadruple down in the Same tourist locations, (Vegas, Big Island, Orlando), sounds like Myrtle Beach is next.

The stories that I found online describe it as a Hilton hotel, not a TS.
But with a preview-sales center, it's obviously gonn'a be a HGVC.

We stayed at Anderson about a year ago, and asked for a tour of Ocean 22, and they specifically mentioned that they were developing that other site as an HGVC property.

We are owners at Ocean 22. We attended an "owners' update" in November at Ocean 22. I can confirm that Ocean 16 will be an HGVC property built and developed by the same group that did Ocean 22. Ocean 16 will apparently have about 330 units, versus 220 units at Ocean 22. They wanted us to sell back our unit at Ocean 22 and purchase a larger unit at Ocean 16 to increase our points to "Elite" status. We politely declined. Interesting news about the property adjacent to Ocean 22 on the north side.

Personally, I rather HGVC expand into new areas such as Caribbean and others. But, really why would they change since what they are currently doing is working so well for them (http://tugbbs.com/forums/index.php?threads/investor-presentation-on-hgv.255239/).
I also would like expansion into new areas. In addition to the carribean my wish would be for pure Hgvc in southwest Florida in addition to the affiliates. Affiliate weeks are so limited. I think they are missing a huge market there. As their presentation showed they like to have several in one location which maximizes their profits, now it's myrtle beach.

I prefer Florida beaches to SC beaches, so to me, it's wasted space, either way.
But as you say, it sure would be nice if they'd how more imagination in locations.

In the HGV Q2 earnings call they shared that they had broken ground on the 3rd tower in Myrtle Beach. Like the other Carolina properties, this will be in partnership Goldman Sachs and Strand Capital. They expect to start sales early next year, and the resort should open in spring 2019.
