Sure your home resort may be your favorite, but what are your top-3 or top-5 Hilton Grand Vacation Club properties?

I love the Hawaii resorts. I've enjoyed Kings Land and--even though it's an affiliate--I really love The Bay Club since its renovation a couple of years ago. We also like the Lagoon Tower at HHV. Valdoro is a beautiful resort in a great location.

So far my favorite is Kings Land, followed by Kohala Suites and HHV. We also enjoyed Parc in Orlando.

Agreed -- I love HHV Lagoon and Kings Land. No clear #3 for me, but many good options.

Best,

That's true for me as well. So here's my rank based on the ones I've visited.

  2. Hilton Waikoloa Village (Kings Land)
  3. West 57th NY
  4. Hilton Club NY
  5. South Beach
  6. Orlando International Drive (aka Tuscany)
  7. Las Vegas Strip
  8. Las Vegas on Paradise Karen
revised - forgot about South Beach

We haven't stayed at that many HGVC resorts. For that matter we initially bought to use our home resort but, in the meantime HGVC bought Elera and that's become our favorite because of the location, rooms and the fact we go to Vegas every year for our anniversary.

Times have changed however and we haven't spent an entire week in Vegas for several years. That means we can manipulate our points and use them for other vacations. So I have a little longer of a list.

1. Elera
2. Valdoro Mountain
3. Bay Club
4. Grand Waikakian (we like the resort but not Oahu so much)

Only 1 of our 2 home resorts is a favorite: W 57th.

Our other home resort is Flamingo, for the low MFs. And, while we like it there, it's not a favorite.

Other favorite (and a place to use the Flamingo points): Bay Club

We'll try Kohala Suites in November to see if we like that as well.

Not interested in any of the Waikiki locations.

Cheers.

Based on the one's I've visited (and I've only visited 4 HGVC resorts):

McAlpin-Ocean Plaza, South Beach, Miami (beach and location give this extra points)
West 57th Street, New York City (location gives this extra points)
Tuscany, Orlando (location close to shopping outlets gives this extra points)
Parc Soiel, Orlando

I forgot about South Beach too. Very nice resort in an excellent location. I'm trying to think of resorts in the system I haven't liked. Maybe the jackhammer running at the SeaWorld location last time I was there. This thread is making me think of places I want to visit though. Can't believe I haven't been to Parc Solei yet, or Elara. Too much of a homer at Valdoro.

I liked Parc Soleil, the only thing I didn't like about it was that we were on a very high floor and it was windy out on the balcony at all times (there are no other buildings in the area that could block the wind).

Then again, we travel to Florida in January and it was quite cold up there and not very enjoyable to sit outside. I prefer the low-profile serenity of Tuscany when traveling to Orlando in winter (and the ease of walking to outlets if I want my own getaway).

I have only stayed at 4 but been to 5 (not counting sales pitch at Parc soliel).

In Orlando, best bet is tuscany.

Other than that top locations are:

1. Eagles nest
2. South beach
3. Charter club
4. Tuscany
5. Sea world.

I think part of it is vacation style choice, usually orlando trips are for Disney, while other locations are more relax and do nothing..

I just can't get into the whole go to Orlando to relax by pool etc..

Marco Island is a different story of days by pool or on beach. .

Southbeach is more of a place for urban adventures. .

While our places are all different, the sentiments are very much the same.

Orlando is for going to Disney. And we have DVC for that, so no need of HGVC.

Our relax by the pool and be low key is the Big Island, so we use Vegas points for Bay Club for that.

Urban adventure is W 57th.

We also do some Vegas, mainly for running races there, but for shows and having a car to go to nearby nature...

Cheers.

Skiing is one of my favorite activities, so the mountain locations start my top 5 list:

Sunrise Lodge (true ski in / ski out, larger rooms than Valdoro)
Valdoro Mountain Lodge (small resort, great lounge, ski shop on-site)
South Beach (location, location, location)
Surf Club, Marco Island (great beach location, have been there every New Years for the last 5 years)
Parc Soleil (Nicest rooms and pools in Orlando, IMO. And the tub that fills from the ceiling is just too cool!)

Honorable mention to Marbrisa, as their new pool complex is very nice. Haven't been to Hawaii, so can't compare those resorts. We just purchased a Charter Club week on Marco Island, so that may replace Surf Club in my list, as the units look a bit nicer / updated and they have more pool / beach activities.
