A few months ago it was $50 or 500 pesos. Pesos were 17 to $1 at the time, but the taxi conversion rate was 10 to $1, so getting pesos is a much better deal.

500MXN is not the rate as that would be $26usd.

The rate 2 months ago for an up to 4 persons in a cab is $70USD/cab. Taxis have been refusing to accept the registered peso rate for nearly 8 months since the peso was devalued. They are insisting on USD and if you only have pesos then they just multiply the $70 times 16-18 pesos and demand the inflated unregistered rate. Big scam in Cabo that everyone who pays in pesos is complaining about.

Your best bet is to take the shared ride shuttle at $17/person but it must be booked as a R/T (again a taxi union stipulation).

Another alternative from Tesoro is to walk to the post on L. Cardenas (3 blocks) away and take the Desierto bus (50min in a new, nice AC bus with wifi) that takes you all the way to terminal one for $5 or 80 MXN/person- screw the bloody taxi union they are getting as bad as the pinchy resort developers.
