Was just seeing if anyone has first hand experience with staying at Makai Club in the 1BR units with AC. Any comments or advice? Already know they don't have beach view and such.

Units are pretty good, clean, comfortable and very adequate. King bed was comfortable and bedding was nice. Stayed in a 1bed Dec 2014. A/C was good. Nice large bedroom and fresh bath/shower area. Kitchen was very workable, but had smaller type appliances - stove, fridge. Certainly no view, but some units have a nicer treed, grass view than others. Certainly ask for at least a 2nd floor unit. Ground floor units, unless you need them for access, leave something to be desired and you still will need to go down about 5-6 stairs into them. Pool and hot tub is close to most of the units and both are o.k. for what they are, but lack any real ambiance. O.K. for a dunk though.

There are other larger style 'cottage type' units are site, however, I think you must need to be an owner or at least a Wyndham owner to get into them.

Staff are friendly and their orientation is the Kauai standard. Some beach things to rent, incl. bikes at the front office if you need something.

I wouldn't not stay there again.
