If anyone has stayed at this location I read a TON of reviews about noise from the flamingo pool. It is like every other review you read someone complains about the noise.

I knew this but I also knew to go with the entire review score overall which this is the highest RCI rated Vegas booking on Tug Reviews.

Does anyone know of any rooms, units to stay in, that are non-smoking and far far away from the DJs loud noise from the pool.

Thanks to anyone that is experienced on this I guess I could start by calling ahead and asking the reservations staff they would probably know their facilities the best.

The noise from the pool is pretty limited to July and August as far as I know. I didn't see any way to avoid it. I asked for a quiet room and had a full view of the Go pool with all the noise. Depending on what time of year you go, the pool may not even be open at all. You can check the Flamingo (not Hilton) website and look for their onsite activities and pool information. The noise comes from them. It doesn't come from HGVC Flamingo.

P.S. This thread is easy to overlook since it is in buying/selling/renting. A lot more people would see it in HGVC.

Thank for the heads up I just talked to them and unfortunately I will be going during the overly loud music time. I am going labor day week in 2016 and they said the pool closes in October usually. You would think with so many complaints the people running the Flamingo would have more tact and be respectful of the Hilton guest. My guess is the overly loud speakers are pointed directly at the Hilton.

Is parking free for people that stay at Hilton Grand Vacations Club at the Flamingo I am considering swapping reservations to The Grandview at Las Vegas Resort.

I chose what I chose because I thought it would be cool to be within walking distance of the strip. The thing is a lot of the time my dad may be staying behind some of the trip with the baby he is mainly going for us visiting the grand canyon and hoover dam he isn't into the whole vegas casino and crowds part that vegas has to offer.

Thanks for the reply

The pool sound system is loud until about 7pm, so it will not disturb sleep.

My favorite place to stay although we us usually go when the pools are closed. Great location, and yes it has free parking.

This year we are actually staying at Elara mainly just to try something different since it is also HGVC.

I'm leery about the new noise from the LINQ. Not sure how that affects the rooms.

enjoy

It's free if you self park. I believe it is $10/per day if you use valet.

I guess it depends on how much people normally walk, but to me, it looked like many timeshares were walking distance to the strip. That was when I was out walking around. I kept seeing timeshare that I've read about here and being amazed at how close they were. If you normally don't walk much, maybe they seem far, idk.

I've stayed at both Elara and Flamingo at least twice each...kinda lost count. I go back and forth as to which I prefer, Elara has nicer creature comforts, Flamingo has a better location. Reading between the lines, you might prefer Elara. No way would I swap from Flamingo to the Grandview, the Flamingo location is just too good and to me the noise was not really an issue. If there's any swapping go to Elara.

As a previous poster noted, the pool noise at Flamingo is only during the day. It's never been an issue for me, but I have a pretty high tolerance for that kind of thing especially in the afternoon...it's Vegas, it's supposed to be fun! And, um, Flamingo casino, tact and respect?? Really??? It's not the Wynn or Palazzo. Anyway, I wouldn't characterize the pool noise as "loud, loud", just noticeable. Higher floors would be better to mitigate noise, but they all face the pool.

But the location is fantastic. It's right on the monorail so all of the MGM properties on the south strip are easily accessible via the monorail and almost anything else is easily walkable. Flamingo, Caesar's, Bally's, Paris, Bellagio, the Linq and the Linq Promenade, and Harrah's are all a short walk. Mirage, Venetian, and Palazzo are a bit further on the north side, Planet Hollywood and Cosmopolitan about the same on the south, but doable. There's really no need for a car at either Flamingo or Elara unless you want to go off strip, you could save a few bucs by just renting one for your side trips. Flamingo rooms are a bit dated but it's currently under renovation, might be done by next Labor Day. Honestly, the reno noise was worse than the pool noise in early Oct this year.

Elara is a more upscale, more modern property and feels more removed from the strip, although the walk through the shopping mall to Planet Hollywood is about the same as HGVC Flamingo to the front of Flamingo casino. It is a more quiet property overall, but usually requires more points.

Elara has easy access to Planet Hollywood, Cosmopolitan and all of City Center, plus Bellagio. Walking up to the Paris and Bally's is easy and the Flamingo/Linq/Caesars area isn't too bad. Mirage, Venetian, Palazzo are a bit too far for me from Elara. Also, the south strip is a bit of a hike from Elara, but you can tram from Excalibur to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. I'd actually cab it to south strip, but I'm lazy. I think there's a tram from somewhere in City Center to NYNY as well. Monorail access is a breeze at Flamingo and a pain at Elara.

The mall and PH give you many more food options and easy access to a greater variety of shops. Parking at the Elara is in the same parking structure as PH and the Miracle Mile, very convenient to the hotel. Much better than the HGVC Flamingo parking in the ancient, grubby Flamingo garage that seems miles away. Both are free to guests.

The Elara pool is a bit plain, but nice. The pool is only about 3ft deep everywhere. Decent small bar, definitely not a party scene, but larger and nicer than the HGVC Flamingo pool. It has a good number of cabanas if you're interested. If you're a pool party person, big edge to HGVC Flamingo with the access agreement with the Go pool. However, the rooms at Elara are quieter as there is no noise from the Go pool or the clubs at the Cromwell.

One other thought, the Flamingo habitat might be a nice place for your dad and the baby to hang out for a bit, depending on the kid's age. It's not very big, but there are koi/goldfish ponds, flamingos and some exotic birds...park like setting, but close to the pool!
