What exactly does float mean? My understanding is "Points is points" and they fluctuate in regards to season, so how / why does float come into play?

If you buy an affiliate resort, you may have a floating week. You would have to choose the week that you would want to book (within your season) or to deposit for points. For Hilton developed resorts, you can book your "floating week" within your season in a more than 9 months in advance. You can book other seasons or properties less than 9 months in advance.

Some owners might also consider the points based reservations system to be a floating week system becasue you have no assigned "fixed" week. You can book at your home resort for any week (float) during your season. I've always considered any points based reservations system to be a "float week" system, simply because you do not have a fixed or assigned week every year.

Judi's website is judikoz.com. I am currently waiting to clear ROFR on 7000 platinum points at Seaworld with her. So far they have been excellent to deal with. Very knowledgeable and great communication.
