Apple
Last year Robin Williams walked into our Charleston Apple Store and was greeted by a young male salesperson who eventually sold him an iPad. Robin didn't say who he was, he didn't act snooty or look out of the ordinary. He was just like any other customer. When it was time to close the purchase the salesperson asked if he would want him to set up the iPad for him and show him how to use it and Robin said that he would. When it came time to enter a name, the salesperson asked if he was Robin Williams and he just smiled and said he supposed that he was. My daughter worked in inventory that day and received the order to bring the iPad to the salesperson and as she walked across the store towards the customer she thought how much he looked like Robin Williams but how very short he was. As she got closer she was pretty sure it was indeed him and before she turned to go, he smiled and thanked her. He hung around the store awhile while having the iPad set up and learning some ins and outs of it, talking to a number of people there. There was a lot of excitement and talk in the Apple store that day after he left!
It's so sad that he could help so many people, bring smiles to so many faces, laughter to so many voices, yet no one was able to help him overcome his darkest depression.
