I have a basic Kindle, not the new Fire. I've read that you can download Calibre for free to access Epub books.

Does this work? Is it tricky? I am somewhat challenged with technology.

Thanks in advance.

I don't own a Kindle and don't know anything about Calibre, but if you search for Calibre on YouTube, you'll find numerous tutorials on downloading the program, and using it to convert books to a format that's compatible with the Kindle. Here's one example:

I did take a look and it seems pretty simple. Just hoping that's the case and to get some firsthand feedback.

Bev, I was going to ask what book(s) you found that aren't in Kindle format that would prompt you to download and convert them. Then I saw you are Canadian and it all became clear. Dummy. Me, not you. Hope it works well for you. Many of your countrymen (persons?) who can't buy them direct because of that silly border will appreciate the guidance.

Actually there are some free monthly publications on a (not to be discussed on TUG - ha) website that are not commercially available but are in Epub format. I can print out PDF copies, but it would be handy to have them on my Kindle when we travel.

I've watched the videos. I'll give it a try on the weekend when I have some uninterrupted time and see how it goes.
