Purchase Price For Orlando or Myrtle Beach?

My family just got back from a week at the Westin Lagunamar and purchased an every other year, one bedroom platinum plus. The deal we got was sale price of $15,000, 81,000 star options, and 95,000 star points. We already own WSJ platinum 3 bedroom.

We enjoyed Lagunamar and would return, but we really wanted to get the star options so we can have longer vacations and/or take friends/family with us.

My question is does anybody know what the price for something similar to what we bought is at the Orlando or Myrtle Beach properties?

Rescind Your Purchase If You Can!!

You can buy resale in the mandatory section of SVV (Sheraton Vistana Villages) for about $3000- $5000. And get staroptions You will not get starpoints, but you'll be saving so much money it shouldn't matter.

I agree. Sometimes for some reasons people do want to buy from the developer. But since you are in doubt now, rescind and think about it.

Please tell us that you can still rescind. You are paying a huge premium for those upfront starpoints.

I recently purchased a 1 bed at Vistana Resorts for $1 and last month traded into the Westin in Cancun for next spring for a 2 bedroom unit....so I would second the thinking of not making such a big purchase from the developer.

If you are not worried about exchanging the Staroptions for Starpoints usable at Starwood hotels, I'd buy a resale of an annual 1-br Premium in Platinum season at a mandatory resort like Kierland (WKV).

When you go to resell a unit at a mandatory resort, any new owner would get to use the Staroptions anywhere. Not so for a voluntary resort like Lagunamar. A new owner would be limited to exchanging via II or going to Lagunamar in the season owned. The ability to use Staroptions to trade internally in the SVN does not transfer when a unit at a voluntary resort like Lagunamar is resold. So, a unit at a mandatory resort will hold its resale value better.

Moreover, there is no limit on the use of the Staroptions acquired when you buy a mandatory resale. You keep the same Starwood account and you can combine Staroptions for maximum flexibility.

You should be able to get an annual 1-br Premium unit in Platinum season at WKV for around $10K. That gets you 81,000 Staroptions usable every year for $3K less than the unit you purchased at Lagunamar. (In other words, you will double your Staroptions and come out even on net price since the 95,000 Starpoints are worth just a little more than $3K.)

You can always get a pretty cheap flight to Phoenix on SW Air. The yearly MF at Lagunamar and Kierland are quite comparable. I own at both and love vacationing at both. I'll be at Kierland in November and March. I'll be at Lagunamar for 2 weeks straight in February.

You can do better than you have. Rescind while you can. :) ... eom

Currently there is a 1 bdrm float (weeks 9-43 and 47) that is listed for $2800 at SBP. There's another 1 bdrm for $10k. 2 bdrms are $3-5k.

You can pick up SVR for $1 + SA of $2500 right here on Tug.

Make sure you rescind EXACTLY the way it is outlined including sending via Fed Ex traceable delivery account AND via Fax. If you miss a date or signature, the paperwork is invalid and you are stuck!

chc, ... For example, an annual Platinum 2-br non-lockoff in the mandatory Bella section of SVV (81,000 tradeable Staroptions each year) sold for $4,851 last night on eBay.

That's doubling your average annual Staroptions for about 1/2 the net price. ... eom
