Congrats.
But wouldn't you want to be better than an "Average Leader." :p

I had to read that several times to catch your pun! Thanks . . . I was never "an average leader" . . . in NCAUSBCA or now for BCAW (my current association that I in fact DO LEAD). :)

Wow! That is very cool, Yvonne, and congratulations! That's a nice write up, too. I would've loved to see your competitors' faces when you showed up to compete in the men's scratch leagues in the 1970's!

Congratulations. You would not want to bowl with me (or maybe it is vice versa). :)

What is your average?

Gimpy knees sidelined me about 15 years ago so I haven't really bowled much lately. I averaged right at 200 in the early 90's but gave it up to pursue my MBA. When I moved to Milwaukee (to work for bowling) I averaged around 185-190 for a few years until giving it up.

I am lucky to work for bowling today and every now and then I will bowl with friends or on our Wisconsin Vintage Alleys Tour. It's not pretty, but I still enjoy it. (And I pay for it for days later with sore knees, hips & back.)

Thanks everyone.

Many of you know I work for bowling and really enjoy my work. Being recognized from my time as a bowler more than 30 years ago, is pretty special. Getting to spend that special evening with some of my friends & teammates from BITD will be especially cool.

Thanks! Yes it was quite the buzz. Ironically in the late 80's at Bowl America Burke it was especially funny. I was bowling in a Tuesday night mixed league with my then hubby (who was a PBA regional player). He started bowling pot games on Sunday afternoons at BA Burke. One weekend, I decide I was going to bowl too. They started, but I went to the practice pair to warm up. One of the guys "in the games" said to one of the other guys from our Tuesday league "hey look, there's a lady bowling on our pair over there. Who the F does she think she is?"

The other guy responded "Wait until you see who the F she is!"

I went in the next game . . . won a couple of games (of about five) and cleared over $100 for the day. I became a fixture there with my hubby for a few years, plus the pot games on Thursday nights after our summer league. That was what led to the legend of "the second paycheck" at Burke.
