Hopefully Amazon will have some Chromebooks on sale.

Amazon Prime Day's first TV deal is here - and
you'll definitely want to take advantage.

"...you'll definitely want to take advantage"??? I should go out an buy another TV just because it is cheap??? To be honest (and I will probably take some flack for this), but it makes me wonder if what Amazon Prime Day is about is over-consumerism.

It most definitely is.

But at the same time, if your current and legitimate needs match a Prime Day offering why not save a buck (or two or ten)?

absolutely, like Christmas in July.
But if it's something I need and it's significantly discounted then I'll be an "over-consumer"

Trying to get excited about this, but to be honest, I buy things I need/want throughout the year, and rarely "need" anything on a day it happens to go on sale. I have Prime, and use it a lot, so might have gotten excited for this, in the distant past. Lately I'm kind of "Meh" about it all.

Not like this is a classic, old-school Woot-Off, or anything... :D LOL!

Dave, Woot is having a birthday celebration Woot Off today!

I haven't seen any Bags-O-Crap being offered though.

I apparently just missed one. It is still showing ... but "sold out" ... as the headline item under "Clearance" (woot-off format).

Today they are offering an annual subscription to The Washington Post for just $30, with auto-renewal so this rate is locked in for future years as well. I was paying $3.99 per month on the previous Prime rate so this saved me another $17.88 per year. Lots of ways to find value for a Prime membership.

Nope. They offered significant discounts to the digital version ($3.99/mth was a great deal), and the $30/year is outstanding.

Update: IIRC, they offered initial months free, then it converted to $3.99/mth.

I'm sure there will be others as EBay has a promotion or two in play today as well.

Hi SteelerGal,

Did you know Amazon Prime members get a Free Washington Post Subscription for 6 months if you are a new subscriber. I think after 6 months it goes to $3.99/month. You can cancel at any time.

So you might not have missed out.
