We ended up buying 3400 EOY (odd year) to supplement what we have which is 7000 every year. Total cost was $430. All closing cost, fees and MF for 2019 were paid for by the seller. MF are approx $634 every other year.

We received a copy of the recorded deed a few days ago showing transfer of ownership to our name. Noticed my wife’s name was spelt wrong on the recorded deed so I emailed them back.

Was advised that the documents will have to be revised and it will take a few weeks.

Will provide an update once this is all sorted out but if anyone has advice or steps I need to take in the interim pls let me know? Thanks

Whoever did the closing should do a corrective deed. We did that once, simply because they got our address wrong. It was merely a "scrivener's error" and easy enuff to "update" our address, but we didn't want it to result in any identity issues.

Absent that, you could record and send HGVC a notarized Affidavit of Identity stating that, she is the same person whose name appears as --- as a grantee in deed #1 and as --- as a grantee in deed #2, and that her true name is ---. That's often used to resolve that issue. You can find samples on the net.

That should resolve any grief from HGVC about adding the new TS to your existing account. But before going thru the trouble, I'd simply wait a couple of weeks to see if you get a corrective deed.

Ok thanks for the advice! Will wait it out as the closing company agent has been pretty good.

Just curious how can RCI change the deed? Normally rci have nothing to do with hgvc deeds?

Regards.

Closing agent at RCI had to revise the documents. By RCI I mean resort closing inc.
