At least the one thing I will use last calls stayed the same. Why would anyone deposit with these fee structures. It looks like all fees around the exchange other than the exchange fee has gone up. Mostly 5 bucks on everything with a couple higher. I tried to copy and paste, but the formatting was unreadable.

In effect dec 1

Wow. Their prices are so much higher than Interval Intl. I have less expensive choices (II, GPX, Trading Places) so I will continue to avoid RCI.

Most of these aren't that big of a deal, but the deposit-combine fee is going up $20 ($139 -> $159) for 12 months, with no mention of 24. For those on the fence about combining, now might be a good time.

Grrrr. I could really spin off on these dirt bags. They have you over the barrel once you deposit anything with them.

I would rather have my finger nails extracted then do business with them.

I'm am certainly an II fan over RCI and I don't deposit with them anymore.... BUT

I have 13 TPUs left from a week deposit that I have already taken 2 vacations against. It is hard to squeeze 3 trips out of one deposit with II. And …. you can't beat some of their prices on Extra Vacations and Last calls.

I will keep my RCI membership open, but continue to not deposit with them. I value their EVs and LC options.

We are definitely giving up on RCI for the most part. I stopped depositing my summer Cape Cod week and they have been relentless in trying to get it. Ha! Not happening again. Renting it to a friend in 2019 and I think from now on we are going to try VRI's Trading Places if we don't use or rent. I have been very fortunate with EVs but the trading is no longer working for us. The only other timeshare is the one we always use with the family here in NH and our Wyndham points which will never find their way into RCI.

Wyndham points can be very useful for high-value exchanges (e.g. DVC, Manhattan Club) and discounted exchanges back into high-point Wyndham resorts (e.g. most of the Avenue Collection; rarely deposited, but still).

I’m curious. What was the fee before? I also know the fee to extend RCI points and weeks went way up.

In my opinion, three things are happening here:

1. Corporate greed. They do it because they can and they know many people are over a barrel. Pay them a large fee or lose your points or not have enough to trade small amounts if you don’t combine.
2. Pure profit. It costs them next to nothing to combine or extend. It’s a simple click of the mouse. Great business and people will pay because they have no choice.

3. There is no regulation I know of that puts their pricing in a leash.

They do it because they can.

RCI only gets one week I have because it is not a member of II. It is a week I have used in the past but last year and this year family obligations made it that I had to deposit it. I use my tpu’s to do short term trading. To me that is the value RCI has.

All my others weeks, if I can’t use them, go to II so I can get an equivalent trade. I am not depositing a high demand week and then have to compete against combiners to get a trade.
