Changing name on reservation

When changing the name for the person on the reservation do you get an automated e-mail from vistana.com?

We are using one of our friend's reservation at WLR and want to have something in writing when we show up without them.

The owner will get an email with the updated name. I forward that email to the person using the reservation.

A little more info: When ILG bought out Starwood, they decided that it was no longer their responsibility to deal with renters/guests of owners, so they won't talk to guests any more. However, your friend should have received a confirmation email in your name, as soon as they called and requested the name change, and they should forward the email to you. However, it's not automated - a human at Owner Services has to make the change. If the owner can't find the confirmation email, they can go to their online Vistana account and send themselves (or you) another guest confirmation from their account.

She just changed the name ... and paid the $59 ... e-mail should be coming soon

Not in my experience. It feels to me like there is a "batch" job which processes all the queued e-mails every 15 minutes or so. So I receive them fairly quickly, but not "Amazon.com-instant."

There was a fee to change the name on a reservation? I've never been charged a fee to do that. So perhaps this is an Interval exchange into WLR rather than an owner week. In that case, Interval charges $59 to change the reservation in their system, not Vistana.

Nevermind. :doh: I just remembered there's a fee to change a StarOptions exchange over to another person's name. I only book my home resorts, so I'd forgotten all about that!
