RCI is getting more greedy with tpu’s required versus what they give you when you deposit.

I was just on RCI and saw a week at Seawatch on the beach in Fort Myers for 43 tpu’s for next summer. I decided to see what they would give if you deposited the same week. It was only 32 tpu’s. So unfair, you need over 30% more tpu’s to get an equivalent week.

To those who accuse me of bashing RCI, this is my reason why. I even took screen shots because I couldn’t believe my eyes. How does RCI expect to get quality inventory if they treat their customers who have it like this.

I remember telling our resort manager this very thing when the system came out.

Wow! That's a big difference. It makes me happy I don't have any weeks left in RCI!

The bean counters are taking over at (almost) all Providers and devaluing programs everywhere. I see no solution other than to live with it or walk away...

Another reason I sold off my Weeks. The exchange options are increasingly difficult.

I’m curious to know if a Points ownership has the same kind of experience? Is it just Weeks owners, or is everyone treated this way? I’ve heard for a long time that RCI wants everyone to shift to Points.

I am finishing up my deposited points with RCI and will be walking away from my individual membership. I thought I was done but had to cancel a vacation.

I am so discouraged by RCI, and I have build a large number of TPU's that I have combined a few times now. I don't know whether I really care about them anymore. But they were cheap, back when our Pres Villas got 101 points, then 84 points...downward trend continues. I decided to convert to RCI Points. That has worked fairly well because I can rent prime summer weeks pretty easily to retrieve my MF's. I reserve them ahead of RCI getting them automatically. I just reserve and rent them.

The problem is when you have 200 TPU's in one deposit because of the combined deposits, and you have an ongoing search, and you match, then you are going to have to start out from scratch with a new search for something else. So for example, we are staying through exchange in the mountains, and I have several units I want. I need four units for the same couple of weeks. I can enter an OGS for those two weeks, but when I get ONE match, I have to enter another ongoing search with the leftover points. It puts me at the bottom of the pile. I am not whittling those TPU's down as fast as I would like. Hey, if I was okay staying at Saratoga Springs in a one bedroom, I could get those, but I just don't care to stay at SSR. I own there, and it ain't that special to pay 60 TPU's for it.

I wonder if anyone asked RCI if they can divide the one combined tpu's into two, so instead of one 200 bucket, you have two 100 buckets. It might be worth asking.

Wyndham Destinations owner of RCI - Keep buying up other programs so eventually they can force peeps into RCI. I like II, but worry they may 1 day pull WM from II, So I’m also trying to buy a couple Hyatt's to keep my II Access.

I still find value in my RCI Points account. I don't think there's a big difference (if any at all) in the number of points to book vs what you get for your 'deposit.'

The main thing I like... the booking window opens up at 10 months for all RCI Points inventory... a few months earlier for resorts/systems your points come from. So with proper planning, I can get what I want pretty easily.

And the exchange fee for RCI Points inventory is lower.
