Is this possible.? I know that from saved TUG messages from 2006 it was possible for Marriott owners to use a dummy reservation number in the past. That was the last time I had any interest in II.

My interest has been revived and I don'r own a Marriott but a MROP red week and joined II for the getaways feature, but now am wondering if searching in II without a deposit on record is possible using some dummy reservation and and/or unit numbers.

You don't have to have a deposit to search II - you just have to be a member. However, you have to have a timeshare registered with II, that you can search with.

I don't believe you can search with a Marriott trader, if you don't have a Marriott resort registered with II.

If the resort you have affiliated has poor trading power, you may not see all availability - in other words, a Marriott trader may see more.

Yes, I have done this before many times with my timeshare units that I have not booked yet to see which weeks get better trading power.

You enter any fake reservation number but you also need a compatible unit code for your resort. There is a thread with a list of all of them.

True fixed weeks are the quickest and easiest way to do a dummy search since you don’t have to enter any other qualifying info.
