I currently own a Sunrise Lodge silver week which is worth 4100 points and MF is around 1300 from what I recall. I have myself bought resale for this resort at much less than I paid and for platinum units. From your experience and research, is there any point in trying to sell this timeshare and paying any commission, or is this a give-away, or even worse - should I just trade up through Hilton to get what I want (lower MF and smaller unit in platinum week)? I've been offered upgrades at Owner's updates but have yet to bite. I am still on the fence about whether it's better to sell/give away and buy another deed resale or to let Hilton take and a pay to get what I want.

The "trade-up" through Hilton will probably cost you a minimum of $20-30,000 in "new money", unless in the process, they try to pawn off something like a still-not-desirable Gold Week, all the while telling you how lucky you are to get such an amazing deal. If you decide to go that route, be very skeptical and thorough. The numbers will probably not translate what you're looking for.

The easiest would be to give it away. No need to pay an agent. List it on the tug marketplace and the bargain section. Someone will take it.
