For those who use the HGVC RCI portal to trade, except for Disney, what have been your best trades, places and times?

Just curious as with my private RCI tpu account I rarely had success. Hoping it is better through HGVC.

I'm happy with my trades, although I suspect that they aren't that big of a deal. We have back to back weeks in France - Royal Regency in Vincennes (3400 pts) and La Residence Normande in Normandy (2400 pts) for next October. We had points that had to be used and my husband requested France. With the leftover points plus a few from next year, we booked three nights in Maui at Kahana Beach Resort to tack onto a Kauai week and turn it into a 10 day trip. These were free points with my Bay Club purchase so no complaints here (with the exception of the exchange fees).

My best trades except for Disney, was for HGVC in NYC. Since I’m a new owner at NyC it’s likely not gonna happen anymore but that is also due to the need of a 1Br and RCI trades is only for studios.

For everything else I’ve used my regular RCI points account.

I’m unlikely to again trade into any hgvc resorts in rci as hgvc now charges a daily resort fee of $25 at most locations.

I've only used RCI 6 times (had OGS for other things but after almost a year and nothing, I cancelled the OGS)
First time wasn't necessarily a "good" trade, it was using bonus points to stay at HGVC in Orlando (this was when I was stupid and bought direct).

2nd time was for Grand Mayan (and then I got hooked on Vidanta--haha)
3rd time was a Grand Bliss for my sister's friends in June (low season) 2 BR (I had an SFX one as well for my sister, but they didn't have 2 units available).
4th time was probably the "best", IMO, and that was a 1 BR Galleon Key West over the July 4th week last year via OGS. Yes, it was HOT, but now I'm hooked on Key West and the Galleon was very nice, we thought.

I got a 1 bedroom for Manhattan Club for New Years Eve in 2012.
That's the only time I ever used my HGVC points in RCI points and feel it was good value.

1 bedroom at the Bay Club on the Big Island during the summer. We considered it a bargain for only 3400 points.

We also use RCI to book short stays (less than 3 days) at Grand Pacific resorts (MarBrisa, Seapointe, Grand Pacific Palisades) because we own at a GP resort so that waives the 1-in-4 rule for all GP resorts.

Nice trades. How were you able to reserve Donatello for only 3 nights? I thought they were only weeks?

Full weeks are all that is available through HGVC. You can get shorter stays through RCI and that is what I suspect happened here. It's challenging to find them though.

Sorry, I just saw this. Back then we did not have a portal so I had to keep calling and had a wide window of time - and it was available within ten months since it was RCI points. Maybe they are not now, but they were then. So we built the trip around that reservation - I think it was We-Fr. We stayed at a Comfort Inn outside of Yosimite for a few nights, went to Monterey for a few nights on HHonor points then went to San Fran. It was a great trip.
