HGV fires their CFO

Interesting.. usually not good when a company fires their CFO.. though doubtful it will have any impact to owners and club members. I still have a small stock position with HGV, this probably won't help their already weak performance...

Hilton Grand Vacations (NYSE:HGV) says it has terminated CFO James Mikolaichik for "conduct and behavior not consistent with the company's policies."

HGV says Chief Accounting Officer Allen Klingsick "will ensure operational and financial reporting continuity until a new CFO is named."

HGV also reaffirms FY 2018 guidance and long-term growth objectives, and says its growth and investment strategy is progressing ahead of schedule.

Hmmm . . . Wonder what he did. This doesn’t sound like this is totally performance related. Then again, if he was killing it, they would have kept him and dealt with whatever came their way.

Perhaps they are trying to preclude a public relations fiasco. Time will tell. I don't want to conjecture, but a growing number of high-ranking figures have been taking the fall lately for using their positions inappropriately, and like @dayooper notes, the statement makes no mention of performance, referring only to conduct and behavior.

I bought some shares at the ipo then dumped them after the run up. I think it was after listening to the investor call replay someone linked on here, didn’t get a warm fuzzy...

To be a fly on the wall in that conversation. “Double the fees? I don’t think so. Those Tuggers would burn my image in effigy and drag my somewhat good name through the mud! You will have to fire me first!”

The same verbiage was used when the former CEO of a company I worked for Visteon fired their CEO...
