I have TS through Wyndham and have been happy with until resale was discovered :bawl:... went to an update and they sold us again but we rescinded that one thank god.
Is it possible to come to a settlement price and payoff contract?
Just trying to negotiate and negate my cost of ownership for as low as possible at this point.

Wyndham is unlikely to negotiate a payoff that is less than what you owe

The way to reduce your price per point is to average down; ie buy more points on the secondary market

The danger of course is that you might buy more than you can use. And then maintenance fees become the problem

I kinda figured unless I was delinquent they wouldn’t... although the thought crossed my mind...
So to be honest averaging down may not be bad idea.
I had looked into resale trouble is with CWA there are no breaks on the MF.
So basically my only questions are would default allow for a settlement?
And if not.
What are good prices per point resale?

Do you need / want more points? If so, then by all means. If not, there is no great reason to buy resale. The money spent on the retail contract is essentially gone, whether or not you buy additional contracts in resale.

I would worry about what default might do you your credit.

Only reason I was considering default was based on some of the threads I’ve read on here.

I think the only default I have heard of with a settlement involved losing the "property" and any money you put into it. I think hardship was involved.

Lots of people here started the same way. They would advise you to learn what you have and enjoy your vacations. You have spent less than many others. If you want more points, now you know you can get them inexpensively. There is a lot of fun to be had in Wyndham vacations. Leave the water under the bridge.

I have enjoyed our vacations. We were discovery and then bought in... when we went to update he sold us on additional points but once I figured out their double speak of payments, meaning pay the x amount (which we said was our max monthly) and PayPal x amount I canceled the new contract.
Then we found this site and resale while researching all the contract cancellation stuff and about made me sick.
I have taken out a signature loan to pay off Wyndham (nearly $5 per day Wyndham financing) just was wondering if I could work them over like they did me.

Your pretty much stuck unless you want to wreck your credit. 13k isn't that bad, try looking at the positive. If you hadn't bought those points you would've probably never been a timeshare owner and would have never knew of resale.

Whether you stay sick to your stomach or not, you have what you have. I'd say enjoy it. You will be healthier and happier than trying to rage against the machine. What you have isn't a bad thing - it just cost you more than it had to. Get over that part of it because you can't change it. Then if you want more, be grateful that you found a less expensive path. Go to the Wyndham group Facebook page. They berate anyone who doesn't "rah rah" developer purchases. Those people have spent hundreds of thousands and are happy they did. You spent way less to gain the knowledge you have. It is not a terrible product! Learn to enjoy it.

How many points do you own now? If you are looking for vip benefits it and plan to own for many years you may want to consider contacting someone at corporate to find out which non wyndham weeks qualify for their pic program and look for a 3 bedroom week. Then with another purchase you would get credit for those points as well bringing your status up. If you aren't looking to spend more but could use and afford maintenance on more points then keep your eyes open for low fee contracts to add to yours resale bringing both your total expense per thousand down as well as your maintenance fee average .

Other people may be able to answer this question. If you were able to negotiate with them to take the contract back and cancel any remaining debt to them. Would there be stipulations, would you be permitted to own Wyndham in the future?

I know first hand that it is hard but quit kicking yourself. Many of us spent far more than you spent so you learned the lesson for a lot less money.
