I have more dark hair than gray ..But when I trim with electric trimmer; it seems gray is tougher to cut. I must use scissors to trim gray..Doesn't make sense.... How about U?

Don't look now, but most everything gets tougher as you get older. Tougher to get out of bed in the morning, tougher to bend over to tie your shoes, tougher to remember names of people you've known for years ...

I think in most cases that gray hair tends to be thicker. That is the case with me, most of my friends & my MiL. DH is just starting to go gray (was 63 on Monday) and has baby fine hair like his mom had. His gray hairs are a lot thicker than the brown strands on his head. He says he hasn't noticed a difference in his beard/stash wiskers. My MiL started to go gray at 80 and it went really gray very quickly after my FiL passed away 4 yrs ago. Now at 86 yrs old she is loving her thick hair that she can actually style and it will stay styled.

For me, it’s been a race of going grey or falling out since I was in high school. Currently running at about 50-50. What hasn’t fallen out is about 3/4 grey, and on my head is about the same toughness as the non-grey. Mustache is mostly grey, and it’s tougher hair than the non-grey.

I use a blade to shave my face, and don’t have a beard, so can’t comment there.

Wish I had something to go gray with.

Like Dave, mine was in a race between the gray and the MIA. I remember when the lady at the driver's license place asked "Weight?" and added 10 lbs that I had conveniently forgotten, and "Hair color?" and I said 'Brown." and she mis-typed "Gray". Now, there is not much wiggle room. It's all just snow white. Oh well, at least there's enough to be able to tell. I DO recall that when there was a mix, the silver threads were thicker and straighter that the brown ones, and they grew faster.

A few times, I've been given the "senior" discount without asking
or showing my AARP card. The gray helps.
