I can book an extra vacation for late September at either Sedona Summit or Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort....both are Diamond properties. Can anyone give me some recommendations? Thanks!!

Both are decent resorts.

The "middle" of Sedona is probably at the "Y". The Ridge at Sedona Golf is located about eight miles south of the Y and The Summit is located about 5 miles west of the Y.

I've stayed at the Ridge and have a reservation at the Summit. Both resorts share common room layouts/amenities (I am told). A relative who lives in Flagstaff says that she somewhat prefers the Summit.

We’ve stayed at both. Preferred summit overall. I wouldn’t personally chose Ridge unless we REALLY wanted to go to Sedona and there wasn’t much in the way of other choices

My favorite resort in Sedona is Hyatt Pinon point. But, when I saw the Summit 2BR pop up I booked it. The Diamond resorts there always seem to have a lot more inventory and the Pinon Point inventory disappears quickly. I've been lucky enough to get a res three years in a row. I'm hoping that this year I'll have a chance to ePlus from the Summit to PP.

Doug, I really think you're a great photographer too and always enjoy looking at your photos. I think you are actually too good of a photographer in this instance because you make the Ridge on Sedona look better than it really is (imho). Part of that has to do with location - I like the Summit location better than the Village. Another part of it is that I really did not particularly enjoy that Diamond Resorts, when I exchanged into that property, assigned me what was probably the absolute worst view unit that they have on property. (I know - I'm still whining years later.)

Photo album of The Ridge from 2013 https://dougp26364.smugmug.com/Travel/TImeshare/DRI-The-Ridge-on-Sedona-Golf/

Photo album Sedona Summit from 2013. This is a Mesa suite, so maybe not an even comparison https://dougp26364.smugmug.com/Travel/TImeshare/DRI-Sedona-Summit-Feb-2013/
Thanks Doug for the pics! I ended up booking a one bedroom at the Summit for the last week of September as an Extra Vacation. Is there a particular section or building I should request? We are Diamond owners, but not at the Summit. The Mesa suite looked quite nice. We've never stayed in Sedona before.....just one day trips from Scottsdale.

We’ve only been there once, so I have no real preferences at this resort

Yes. But because it's an Elite property, it gets snapped up fast whenever a unit becomes available. Best bet is to put in an advance request as far in advance of your desired travel period as possible.
