HHV - Owners update offer

My final night at HHV. Got to stay in 2 Bedroom in GW.

Owners update, offer was a $150 AMEX Visa or Tickers to Luau. They now advised we didn't qualify as we are resale owners. Still gave us our Village discount booklets and we moved on.

Rooms still in good shape. Lagoon Tower is pretty good too. The 2 bedroom our friends stayed in as the 65 inch TV.

I have attended a couple owner updates before. What I never know is do they really know in each situation who owns resale? I was told during one update it didn’t matter. I attended an owner update at the Bay Club in November and received a $100 resort credit at the Hilton and some discount off one of our tours. But the interesting part was the salesman was trying to get me to go for a 4,800 pt purchase because he said that is all I need to gain elite status (I said no of course). I am thinking does he even know my points I own are all resale?

When do they usually inform you have been denied? When you first try to set it up or after you arrive for your appointment? I am just curious. I don’t plan to do these in the future as they are too much of a distraction and a pain for me for what they give you.

They offered (and gave) me 40,000 HH points for an update/sales pitch last summer. They knew we were resale buyers/owners, but wanted to try and sell us on becoming Hilton buyers by adding to our points buying from Hilton. The essence of the sales pitch was to buy some less expensive points (we're at Lagoon Tower) through Hilton, but the sales guy gave up when I told him virtually all our use of our points was home week, because Hawaii is where we want to go. He acknowledge then that there really wasn't much benefit for us with the program he was trying to sell us on.
