EDIT: Title should say BG(Bluegreen), not BY.
Hi all!
Sorry if this does not come out perfect. As I'm pumped up and typing on my cell phone.
My wife and I signed up for BG, here in Myrtle Beach. We said no before going in, but of course got sucked in.
We were given 8000 biennial for $12000. So 4k points a year. They showed us examples on how to spend the points in Aruba and the beach at prime times and the bonus time seemed awesome. We also got an extra 4k points for putting us in a crappy hotel. Was never told we can only use that in the off season.
Well, once we got the book, no one ever told us about the colored seasons. With our points, we can never take a trip in the red seasons. Also, with plat., gold, silver members, they will always have first pick of reservation, so I practically have no chance to get anything.
Either way, we are stuck on what to do, we feel like we could sell trips or just use it in the off season and hopefully get lucky on bonus nights. But is that all really worth 12k, plus the maintenance fees?
Ok, so here is my LEGAL question. When we were in the back room, being recorded, going over the contract, we came upon the credit application. The lady asked my wife first. Where do you work? How long have you been there? How much do you make? Now she gets to me and asks, Where do you work? How long have you been there? She never asks me how much I make, which my wife and I thought was odd, but did not think anything of it at the time, since everything was moving so fast. So after she fills out the credit application for us, we sign it.
Now fast forward to last night when we get back to the hotel. We look over ALL of our paperwork. And we get to the credit application and where it has MY income, which was BLANK when I signed, it now says $45,000. I never said I made that amount. I actually make $60,000+, so no one would have said $45k. They wrote that in AFTER I signed that paper. Is this legal?? My wife is a contract specialist for the Goverent and has her master's in contracting, but we are still unsure, since this totally different and is a credit application, which is typically considered a contract.
Sorry for the long post. Hopefully it all makes sense. Any help is much appreciated!
