Splitting maintenance fee payments

Good Day All,
My monthly maintenance fee is just over the daily spending limit for the credit card I want to use. My maintenance fees are paid with the autopay setup. If I make a one time payment earlier in the month will Wyndham's autopay system recognize that and lower the end of month auto-payment to just what is due?
No need to question my logic about why I want to use the card I do or tell me to tell my bank to raise my limit. I am just asking if anyone knows how Wyndham's autopay system works when an extra payment was submitted earlier in the month.
Thanks and Best Wishes,
DB

Wyndham's auto pay system is probably a service they use and if it is most of it would work with. Just be very careful to do it well in advance to permit time for the first payment to flow thru. At least a week if not more. If enough time is not left for processing you probably will get double charged.

Robert (aka Avislo) ... you do NOT KNOW, do you?

The OP wanted the answer .. he has been guessing and could guess ... just like you are doing above.

Hopefully, some one who is experienced with the above ... will answer with their personal experience.

PS Robert, try NOT call a Wyndham customer service agent and get their opinion. There are some very good Customer Service Agents on the booking vacations .. they are not experts on the Financial Systems in Wyndham.

OP ... My GUESS is you will get double charged. That system was most likely designed as a stand alone collection system ... not a logic system, to access the financial aspect "is this account's MFs paid for this period of time?" Security is one issue and size with different function is another reason I believe these systems are separate.

I have never made a partial payment and then an auto pay so I don't have a direct answer

What I do know is that the system will charge more or less when a contract is bought or sold into the account. So I assume that sometime ahead of the draw, the system takes a look at what's owed and then that's what it takes

In my case they seldom got it right. So
I routinely called before the auto pay date to ask how much they were going to take and ask whether that number included a credit or debit from last months payment

If I was the op I would do a test. Make a partial payment early in the month and then watch the card to see what happens on the due date

Thank you all for your replies. I called Wyndham Financial Services today and they said the system will adjust the auto-payment to whatever is still due. As Ron suggested, I am going to test it and then I'll report back what the outcome is at the end of the month. The only problem is I just made the partial payment today (3/21) and we are very close to the end of the month. The system may fail just because there is not much time left before the auto-payment will be processed. Of course if I end up with a credit at the end of the month then the system should deduct less next month. Thanks again,
DB

For the end of the month auto pay you should be in good shape.

Your payment due date could be any day of the month. It's not always at the end of the month. Know when your due date is. Im guessing you don't want to make that partial payment just after the due date.

I just wanted to give an update to my splitting the maintenance fee experiment. I made a small payment 1 week before my maintenance fees were due. When the auto-payment occurred on its regular schedule, the amount was automatically adjusted down to account for the early payment I had made. It appears this is a good solution to use if you need to split up your maintenance fee payment between two different sources. Thanks all who posted their insights/recommendations.

Congrats, thought it would work based on my experiences with financial functions and Wyndham payment systems. You were right in calling Wyndham Financial Services for guidance and not a Customer Service Rep. Wyndham experts do give better advise (excluding sales, although they can indicate which way Wyndham may be looking to go) the trick is to figure out which department is the right one to ask. With experience this will become 2nd nature.
