Hello - We have been members of Palace resorts with Moon Palace being our home resort since 2007. We have also kept up our dues with RCI. Can someone explain to me in "pea brain" terms how this all works? I see on the Palace website that I can deposit a week at the cost of $439.00. What does that do for me? Do I deposit a week for that $$ and then find some deal on the RCI website? Sorry to be confused........

If you deposit a week to RCI you will be given a certain number of TPU'S (I believe it is around 12) for your deposited week.

You can then search RCI's website for a week in other areas that you may like to go such as Orlando. Each resort is different how many TPU's (Credits) it takes to exchange to that week. So you may find a week that is equal to or less than the number of credits RCI gives you for your deposited week. When you do an exchange to another property, you will also have to pay RCI and exchange fee which is $179 for resorts in the US.

Most resorts do not require the All Inclusive fee that you pay when you go to Palace and the units will vary in size from studio to 3 bedrooms. Most have full kitchens so that you can cook in your unit as opposed to eating out if you like.

RCI also has getaways and rentals that you just pay their asking fee and do not give up your week.

The getaways are typically last minute but can be very good deals (several hundred dollars for 7 nights)
