We're heading to WKORVN in 3 weeks. We were there in April. Between then and now, all they've done is cancel future projects. Is there any info we could possibly gain (besides "how to accessorize our portfolio") that would make it worthwhile?

And....when we were there last, the spa, fitness center and market had not yet opened. Is the spa good? Is it the same menu as the Westin Hotel's spa? That's the only one I can find online. Do owner's get a discount by any chance? How about the fitness center? Does each WKORV have their own (or in other words, have they updated South's gym?)?

Lastly, reviews when the restaurant first opened were not stellar. Westin had originally hoped it would be a destination restaurant. Has it improved? Is it worth working into the schedule or is it only a fallback when there's nothing in the fridge?

I was there in late September. The owners update was a joke. After the salesperson and I sat down and he realized how many weeks I had, he asked me if I was interesting in buying more. When I told him no, he asked me why I was there (thus implying that I wasting his time).

The spa and market are open. I did find a spa menu by wading through the resort pages on MSC - I'll bet it's still there somewhere. The spa is nice. The treatment rooms are really beautiful, and the treatments I had were good. The men's lounge was really small. There is only a steam room, no dry sauna, and no jacuzzi. I can't comment on the women's, but assume it's the same. The concierge gave me a discount card for the spa in my welcome packet. In addition, I got 20% off all services due to being SPG Platinum. (That offer was also good at the spa in the Westin Maui.) The fitness center is adjacent to the spa. I didn't use it, but it seems like most of the others.

The market is bigger than at some of the properties, and had a fairly decent selection. Prices are high, but I assume everyone expects that. I had dinner at the main restaurant one night. Again a little bit pricey, but the food I had was surprisingly good.

Enjoy your trip!

The owner's update is an outright sales pitch - that's it! The last one I went to, I told the salesman I was only there for an update, and he told me I was wasting his time! :annoyed:

It will be high pressure, but you will get some [*Starpoints] - not sure it's worth it!

*Typo corrected! :D

FYI - I was at WKORV-N a couple of weeks ago and they were offering either points or a free massage or facial at the spa ($120 value) for attending the owners update.

The spa there is nice, but not as large (or lavish, IMO) as the spa at the Westin Maui.

Mindy, looks like you'll be there the same time as our group.

My fiance and I purchased in Oct 2007 and were there on the promo deal on the older side.

This will be our first trip on the North side and I have also rented another unit from an owner for my sister's familys. My dad and step-mom are going on the promo deal by my referral and so is a friend/co-worker and her fiance.

They have no intention of doing the tour but it's a great deal and helps with getting all 20 of us there and at the same resort(s).

As for the "owners update" does anyone know how many points they currently offer?
