Wyndham vs Fairshare points

I have been looking at purchasing a t/s associated with wyndham. Some say they have 'Wyndham' points and some 'fairshare plus points.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me the difference between them, if any.

I raised this very same question here in this forum in the recent past.
The answer kindly provided by more knowledgeable others was that the one and only Wyndham points "currency" is called Fairshare Plus Points --- "Wyndham Points" apparently having become a common use "synonym" for Fairshare Plus Points. In short, both terms evidently refer to the very same thing. This particular exercise in semantics is presumably an indirect result of Wyndham having "acquired" Fairfield some time ago --- and some terminology has since apparently become a bit "hybridized".

If I am mistaken in the above belief, I'll be delighted to stand corrected.

You can "rent" points from other owners on a one time basis.

I don't think it matters who you rent them from but personally I'd contact someone I know & trust (like BocaBum) and ask him about renting FSP points

Renting from Wyndham, the price is now $8.00 per 1,000. That's a joke, if you ask me. No reason to pay them, so that is why the points are such a bargain right now. That is also the reason owners feel they can rent for $5.00 and up.

PS Just a quick FYI
It is much cheaper to buy a Wyndham TS package of Fairshare Plus points (FSP) then to rent. But if you buy them, you then have to pay the MFs yearly and renting points maybe cheaper ( likely) than paying the MFs.

You probably need to joint the Wyndham forum, http://forums.atozed.com. There is a active rental market for point, and a short description how that proceed.

We also have a lot of owner in this forums. some do have points for rent (like Boca), so you can post ask, but I don't quiet sure what will be the best place to put that type of request and still fit the tug rules.
