Not exactly. If you buy a lock-off, you can split it and deposit the two separate units (the 1BR and the studio) with II. Thus, for example, if you currently owned a lock-off week, you could split it and reserve two separate weeks for 2009 through Marriott Owner Services. You can deposit each of those two reserved weeks with II. Each deposit can be exchanged for a week's stay at your home resort or at another timeshare. Thus, by depositing two weeks every other year, you'll have enough deposited weeks to take a timeshare vacation every year.
In addition to getting those exchanges, if your 1BR deposit is for a strong enough week, II might give you an
AC, which woulkd give you a thrd week (!) every other year.
II allows you to exchange for travel dates as late as two years after the date of the week you deposited. Thus, if today you reserved for an early November 2009 week and deposited that week, you would have until early November 2011 to confirm an exchange and travel.
