I believe it was a TUG member that grabbed that one. A year ago I think most sold for at least 10K but recently prices in general are in a free fall.

It probably went so low because the seller didn't even know what he was selling. He answered someone's question about it not being a lock-off when in fact, unless I'm wrong, BPT are lock-off units. I wish I would have seen that one, I would have been tempted.

Regards.

Yes it was me! :)

Incredible price!! I just set a price, walked away for a couple of days and woke up this morning to find out that I had won. The last MBP on eBay, I bid $10K and didn't win. That was only two months ago.

I think we Tuggers all should be trying to buy a few TS's at these distessed sale prices. I'll let you know if it passes ROFR.

Congrats Terry. I think you're gonna like BPT. Great deal...had I been watching I would have bid as well. :)

This week was sold by Intervalmax. I personally am a little leary of them. You can't select your own closing company and they do their own closings (I asked on another auction of theirs). They don't use an independant closing company and their closing fees are high. For >$6000 I would want an independant escrow agent.

FYI - I bought an EOY at BPT a couple of weeks ago on Ebay for $2,075. Gold. This pricing seems to be in line with the platinum in this thread! it is indeed a buyer's market - provided ROFR is a "go" - I bought the identical item 6 mos ago for 4,050 on Ebay and Marriott "took" it

I had seen this week and was hesitant for the same reason. They are insistant about doing their own closings and were very responsive, except when I inquired if their closing company was a licensed and bonded escrow agent. I never received a reply to that inquiry, which made me wary.

Truthfully, I forgot to check back and had I seen it so low I might have been tempted to chance it. Glad you nabbed it Terry; let us know if it passes (and if you happen to see another ;) ...).

They did indicate that they had an attorney handle the closings. That doesn't mean a lot as it still needs to be licensed and my escrow funds should be insured and audited.

Feedback reads ok; response to Negatives seem ok; IMO closing costs are immaterial if you consider them part of the Purchase Price when deciding what you are willing to pay. Personally, I would be more concerned with the $1,000 + MF than the closing costs and self closing. But at aprx $6,600 all-in cost you should always be able to dump without much loss and maybe even a profit. I think you did good and I don't even like Marriotts.

While they may have good feedback there are a number of unflattering threads here on TUG if you just search Intervalmax. I agree the price paid along with the closing costs is a great buy. I guess I am just not a real trusting person.
