I am looking to get an RCI trade to Williamsburg when school lets out in 2010. It would be the first week of June. How soon can I expect to find some inventory to trade? Which resorts are the best as far as location and so on? How far is it to D.C.?

Its a VERY easy trade...you will see it about 1 year in advance. Also, its about 3.5 hours to DC. I like Wyndham Kingsgate for the onsite arcade. Really close to VA beach (great day trip).

Lots of good choices, all close enough to Colonial Williamsburg etc by car. Read the reviews on TUG and search this forum, and you will find quite a few posts. All of these are good choices:

Marriott Fords Colony and Sequel (2 parts of the same resort)
Plantation (also has two parts)
Kingsgate
Kings Creek (Estates, Townes, and another section or two)

It's a few hours from DC.

I wanted to follow up what the previous poster said. I am trying to land something at Virginia Beach for next summer (June, 2009). It seems as though this is a very difficult trade. You mentioned that Williamsburg resorts are a close day trip to Virginia Beach. About how far away is it? Are there other day trips close to Williamsburg? I ask because I have a 20 year old and teenage daughters who are not particularly interested in history, but would love Virginia Beach.

It's about an hour drive, maybe a bit over an hour.

Besides Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktowne, there's Busch Gardens, and there are things to do in Richmond.
They might end up liking the historical re-enactments, at least for a day, and then off to the beach or Busch Gardens for the other days.

And there's Water Country! Great water park. And I say that as someone who doesn't like water parks!
