Mediterranean Cruise Early Nov - Too Cold?

Found a very good deal for a Med cruise on Celebrity for early Nov 2009. R/T from Barcelona-Naples and back with other stops in France and Italy. I'm a fair weather fiend. Will it be cold and is it likely the seas will be rough?

Pat, my sister and I took a very similar cruise with Royal Caribbean in June, and had a great time. Friends of hers had taken that cruise the previous November and enjoyed it. The weather can be iffy though, they were lucky. Read up on Cruise Critic, some say the sea can be rough.

We did a Med. Cruise in Oct 2 years ago. Perfect weather however we were unable to do one stop because of rough seas. By late Oct the weather was starting to change. I personally would not do November because it can also be rainy and it is also considered off season--therefore prices are lower.

It depends on how much you're prepared to risk getting cold weather for the sake of the good deal on price. Weather patterns are changing globally and there's no certainty about weather anywhere now. We were in the Southern Med last November and the weather was great but it could just as easily be cold and wet. Your trip is more Northerly and so more likely to be cooler but who knows - you might get lucky!

We took the 12 night Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Sea's 12 night cruise towards the end of October a couple of years ago. Weather was reasonably warm for most of the trip. We had a little rain in a couple of ports but, you can get that anytime of the year. We're going again in October because it fits our schedule better, otherwise I would have considered November. I do not think you'll find the weather to cold but more fall like (60's and 70's). You might have a higher chance of rain but, I'll trade that for the summer crowds any day. The nice thing about "off" season is that it's mostly the families with kids out of school that make the "high" season high.
