I don't understand why you would be annoyed

Most people who own such a prime week and location would try to rent it out if they cannot use it themselves that year. Considering how much they have paid to purchase the week, and how high the annual maintenance fees are, this type of week would very rarely be deposited for exchange.

Or did I minunderstand your concern?

I don't see any indication that it is an "exchange" week. They may own that week and just rent it out when they can't go. Hard to tell. But what a great vacation that would be. :)

Maybe their mention of following Interval International's rules was why the OP assumed it was an exchange. What would II have to do with it otherwise?

It is the rental of an exchange, not a week they own.

The auction mentions Interval International which means its an exchange.

Was that comment really necessary?
If the shoe fits, wear it. Newbies on this board need to know that all is not friendly in TUGland. That auction was turned in to II long before I saw this thread.

You know the auction was reported to II how?

If you dont have anything usefull to contribute to the thread why bother posting? The person you called a newbie has contributed more to TUG than you have.

Wouldn't you like to know and why in the world should it annoy someone, II says they trade like for like so that person gave up something just as valuable. I called no one a newbie, read it again. You were probably the one that sent that email to II, by the time I saw the info I couldn't tell who sent it, it doesn't matter to me at that point.

After I saw your post, I emailed the person listing the rental and asked about the week for rent.
They said they owned that week and couldn't go this year.
I suggested they change the wording of the ad to avoid confusion - and they did....not everyone is as 'savvy' as this group.
or it could be they were just lazy and pilfered someone else's eBay listing.

The mystery here seems to be resolved so I am closing this thread.
