I received a phone call from Hilton offering a promotion to the Big Island, and it looks pretty interesting.

They are asking $599 for a 5 day/4 night promotion, and the caller told me he would see what he could do about getting 2 additional nights at a reasonable price.

Thoughts on the promotion and on the property? Thanks in advance!

Hi Greg,

That is not bad. I am seeing the owner referral as $799 for 5 nights, and $50 off if you reserve within 45 days of travel. Often there is a better deal upon an owner calling with the referral I have found. If you want any help just let me know.

Thanks

Steve

Did they mention where the accommodations would be and what size room? So would you be staying at the hotel, Kohala Suites or the Bay Club?

They are obviously presenting you with the opportunity to purchase at the new Kingsland property. HGVC TS presentations seem to be hit or miss. My recent experience has been that they have become aggressive in their sales tactics while others report that the pressure has been pretty low key.

I'm amazed at the price of Hilton (GOOD) compared to Marriott. If only they had more locations! I'm excited about the good chance of snagging a trade for the summer -and I certainly enjoyed Orlando. I stayed at Flamingo in Las Vegas - wasn't AS impressed as some of the Marriotts - but hey - for the price - you can NOT beat it.

If they had the Marriott locations, I'd buy more points.

Great Deal

You got a better deal than I did. When I started to look into Timeshare with Hilton, I took a tour at HHV. I didn't buy, however they gave me, what I thought was a deal, a 6 night / 7 days at the Hilton Hotel with a sales pitch at HGVC-Waikoloa for $1200. When I asked why I couldn't get a actual place at Waikoloa, they told me that it is always book solid so it would not be feasible to give me a room at the time share. Of course since I did not know much about TS, I took their word for it.

Hilton seems to be focused on the big 3- Orlando, vegas and Hawaii
Everything else is an affiliate unfortunately- These days with the price of airfare, it would be great if they would spread their wings. Im afraid this may never happen-

This is pretty interesting -- I did go ahead and buy it.

This was the final deal, all included for $599 ($665 with tax):

1) 7 days/6 nights
2) Mid-size car rental for the week
3) $100 in Hilton dollars to be spent during the week
4) A dinner cruise for 2

I think this is a tremendous deal, and am looking forward to it!
